Ephesians 1:18-19

18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might

I LOVE this passage in Scripture... The idea that jumps out is that we do not just need to ask for the power of God in our lives, but we must be aware that power is already available to us at salvation. The same power the raised Christ from the dead is already mine in Christ. It really puts things into perspective when I am trying to do things on
my own or for myself...there is a difference. When instead I can choose to live today, availing myself to God's power already working in me, knowing that my motivation can be to seek His glory above all--IN CHRIST! Have a great day!

Psalm 127:1

Psalm 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Aren't you thankful that we have a purpose? And that purpose is fulfilled in the strength and enablement from  the Lord. I know I am reminded how often I end up becoming frustrated because I just do not have enough time or energy to accomplish something...you know what, in my own strength it is in vain!

Praising the Lord today for the strength He gives, for the work He accomplishes and for the truth of His Word. Praying that I will be faithful in the tasks at hand for today, realizing that Christ's using me is part of His building. May He give wisdom in the menial taks at hand and receive glory for what is accomplished today.

1.13.11

Ugh. To be still is so difficult some times! To be still and read, that is. It is easy to get distracted with non-essential things like facebook and blogging. So, I am signing off for the night...it's off to read Job 32-37. I have really enjoyed the book of Job!!!

1.11.2011

It's been a few days...I know. The snow has just totally messed me up :). Not really. I have been reading in Job, though, and I am still on track. Praise the Lord!!! One verse I read last night from Job 23. V. 10 says But He knows the way that I take. When He has tried me, I shall come forth as refined gold.

This verse is one of those that I have heard often, but haven't ever really realized the context. One thing I thought about as I am reading through Job is that trials and difficulties are nothing new. Really, since Adam sinned, life has been tough. I think God does that to remind us that yes, we are sinful people living in a sinful world. And I think He does it to remind us that our citizenship is in heaven! Until that day, He does know our way. He does try us, and He desires to purify us...to make us more like Christ!

1.7.11

Turning 28 just seems like youth is fleeing, however youthfulness is a mindset, i am certain :). As life continues to pass, I am so thankful for the faithfulness of our heavenly Father and His love for me. That is something that I am growing more and more to be grateful for!

I read Job 14-16 tonight and in ch. 14 he deals with the fact that death is a sure thing that we will face. Not a pleasant thought, I guess from our human eyes, but thinking of seeing Jesus face to face is a wonderful thought! What a hope we have in Him!
